What House? Awards
Sunningdale House Developments’ flagship Sandgate Pavilions scheme in Sandgate, Kent won Gold in the Best Luxury Development at the WhatHouse? Awards. The company, based in Sandwich, also won Silver for Best Luxury House for Seascape, an impressive one-off detached seafront property in Littlestone, Kent.
David Pownceby, CEO of Sunningdale House, said: “To win a WhatHouse? Award in such a competitive category is something pretty special, especially for a young company. The challenges we have faced in this industry have been unprecedented, but Sandgate Pavilions is a development that we are extremely proud of.
“This award is for everyone at Sunningdale House, it demonstrates our vision, our technical and delivery capability and, especially, our customer focus. Turner Jackson Day Architects deserve their share of the glory too for these stunning landmark cliff-side buildings which so impressed the judges.”
Sandgate Pavilions has already attracted interest from celebrity potential buyers, including well-loved stars of stage and screen and artists.
Nearby Folkestone and Hythe have enjoyed a resurgence of interest due to improved high-speed rail links to the City. The design is focused on unrivalled uninterrupted views of the English Channel in this area of outstanding coastal beauty. The brief was that every apartment had to have perfect views and bask in the natural acoustics of the sea.
